New Rules Discussed for Private Little Rock Clubs

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A controversial issue back in front of city leaders in Little Rock.

It involves late night "private clubs" in the city serving alcohol until 5 a.m.

The city board of directors is set to discuss new restrictions on the clubs during a meeting tomorrow.

Some arguing they're a public safety concern and cite an increase in calls for police help late at night.

Private club owners say forcing them to shut down early would hurt business.

"I got 53 employees and if we go back to two we'll be maybe be able to pay 12 to 13 people are going to business," says J.D. Lipscomb, owner of Elevations night club.

Two city directors who toured private clubs will discuss their observations during tomorrow's board meeting.

New regulations governing the clubs are also expected to be brought up.
