Arkansas Tech to Host Welcome Reception for New President

RUSSELLVILLE, AR (News Release)--Arkansas Tech University will formally welcome its 12th president, Dr. Robin E. Bowen, with a come and go reception at Baswell Techionery on Thursday, July 17.
The event, which will last from 5-6:30 p.m., is open to all Arkansas Tech students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. Baswell Techionery is located at 306 West O Street on the Arkansas Tech campus in Russellville.

Bowen was elected president of Arkansas Tech by a unanimous vote of the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees on April 22, 2014.

She took office on July 1, 2014.

Bowen previously served at Fitchburg State University (Mass.), where she was vice president for academic affairs, executive vice president and provost from 2011-2014.

Prior to her time at Fitchburg State, Bowen worked in administration at Donnelly College (Kan.), Washburn University (Kan.) and Rockhurst University (Mo.).

She received her Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration from Texas Tech University. Bowen also holds degrees from the University of Kansas (Bachelor of Science) and the University of Arkansas (Master of Education).

Bowen and her husband, Doug, are parents of three children: son, Brock; and daughters, Alexa and Brynn.
