LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Be prepared for delays and detours if your travel plans involve the "Big Rock" Interchange this weekend.
Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials say crews will be installing steel beams on the new bridge over Shackleford Road.
The construction will affect the following routes:

Shackleford Road northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and detoured to I-630 eastbound. Then through the cloverleaf ramps to I-630 west and back to Shackleford Road northbound.
Shackleford Road southbound traffic to eastbound I-630 will be detoured to Markham Street and east to Barrow Road for access.
All other southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and detoured to westbound Financial Centre Parkway. Then back to Shackleford Road using Hermitage Road.
I-630 westbound to Financial Centre Parkway traffic will be reduced to one lane.
These changes will begin Saturday, March 29th at 9 p.m. Weather permitting, all routes should return to normal Monday, March 31st after 5 a.m.
Crews will use barrels, detour signs, message boards, and warning signs to control traffic during the construction.
