Winter Weather Warning for Much of Arkansas Sunday

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of the state, including central Arkansas, for Sunday and Monday morning.

The warning runs from 6:00 a.m. Sunday through 6:00 a.m. Monday.

A cold front will arrive from the north and will stall in southern Arkansas. The front will separate cold air to the north from much warmer conditions to the south. Temperatures could vary by 40 degrees across the state Sunday morning.

As the cold, wet weather advances, snow and sleet amounts could range from 1 to 2 inches.

Ice accumulations could range from a tenth of an inch in the north and western parts of the warned areas to between a quarter and a half incn in the east near Batesville and Newport.
