False Imprisonment Charge After High Speed Chase in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A man is facing false imprisonment and numerous other charges after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase Friday.

A woman was trying to get out of the vehicle when the chase began.

32-year-old Jason K. Welsh of Little Rock is being held without bond.
The chase started when the car allegedly driven by Welsh passed in front of a police officer in the 6400 block of Forbing Road.

A woman was trying to signal for help and get out of the moving vehicle, according to the officer's report.

The chase went about 10 miles and reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour, according to investigators.

The pursuit ended in the 4700 block of Frazier Pike after the car hit a street sign.

The woman was not injured, and able to get out of the vehicle, a man took of running from the scene and was arrested nearby, according to the report.

The investigation is continuing.
