VILONIA, AR -- The storm damage in the city of Vilonia comes almost three years to the day that another storm followed a similar path through the town of fewer than 4,000 people. On Sunday, the National Weather Service reported a tornado crossing I-40 in Arkansas, as much as a half-mile wide.

After the storms rolled out, many Northwest Arkansas organizations, trained to respond to these situations, rolled in. Deputies from Washington County Sheriff's Office, Red Cross volunteers and retired military organization Sheep Dog Impact Assistance were all on hand Monday morning to help with debris clean-up, search and rescue and other relief efforts.

Police are reminding folks that you should stay away from the tornado damaged areas while organizations like these work to clean up.
