HOPE, AR - The search continues for a woman who fell into the Red River near Hope early Saturday morning.

Arkansas State Police say a vehicle broke down around 1 a.m. Saturday on I-30 near the Fulton exit. When family members came to offer assistance, an 18-wheeler hit their three cars.

Two people fell into the Red River. Police say one man was able to swim to safety and was taken to the hospital with broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Divers are still searching for 42-year-old Janice Northcross. Authorities say she didn’t know how to swim.

The Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office has a search and rescue team at the scene.
