CONWAY, AR- Formal charges were filed Wednesday against a former Faulkner County Sheriff's Deputy accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Faulkner County Prosecutors say Keith Rick was fired in March.

Court documents show the girl's mother alleges Rick had offered to take her daughter home from a friend's house last month. Instead, Rick allegedly took the girl to his apartment in Conway and engaged in sexual contact. The affidavit also says Rick told fellow officers the two had not had sex, but that he touched her inappropriately.

"The frustrating part about this case is that we turn to Law Enforcement for safety and security. This defendant was in a position of trust and authority and in anytime that anyone violates that position of trust or authority, we're going to take that very seriously," says Troy Braswell, Faulkner County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.

Rick's bond is set at $50,000 dollars with a no contact order. He's scheduled to enter a plea at his next court appearance in May.
