LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has released the name of the suspect arrested after exchanging gunfire with officers late Tuesday night.
Patrick Johnson, 43, is charged with eight counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons and Failure to Appear on a Traffic Warrant.
Police say Johnson lived at the home where the officer-involved shooting took place.
Police identify the officer who fired shots in the incident as Scott Miles, a 5-year veteran of the LRPD.
Original story (July 1, 10:45 p.m.):LITTLE ROCK, AR – A suspect is in custody after firing at officers during a search.
According to Lt. Sidney Allen of the Little Rock Police Department, around 9 p.m. Tuesday, SWAT team officers were trying to serve a high-risk search and seizure warrant at 2706 South Washington Street.
When officers tried to get into the house, police say the suspect fired towards them and an officer fired back at the suspect.
Nobody was hurt, but the suspect was taken into custody.
Charges are pending.
