Four people were injured following a lightning strike on a Southwestern Energy location in Faulkner County Thursday afternoon.
Southwestern Energy released the below statement Thursday night:
"Four individuals, employed by third-party service companies, were injured following a lightning strike on a SWN location in Faulkner County that occurred at approximately at 3 p.m. Emergency personnel were notified immediately and arrived approximately 20 minutes later. The four injured were transported to area hospitals. All are reported to be in stable condition.
Operations at the location have been shutdown and the details of the incident are still being investigated. The well was undergoing routine maintenance operations. There was no natural gas flowing at the time of the lightning strike, and the well is secure. Therefore there is no threat to area residents.
