UPDATE: Judge Sets $500,000 Bond for Paragould OBGYN

PARAGOULD, AR (News Release) – Scott Ellington, Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas announces that a $500,000 bond has been set by a judge for the Paragould OBGYN accused of five counts of video voyeurism.

Greene County District Judge Dan Stidham ordered Dr. Paul Becton, Jr., 68, held in the Greene County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.

In addition, at the request of the state, Becton was ordered to surrender his passport, have no contact with the victim, and have no travel outside the Second Judicial District without prior approval from the court.

"We are pleased that the court set an appropriate bond in this matter," Ellington said. "The state's case is proceeding forward."

Ellington said Becton was ordered to appear May 30 at 8:30 a.m. in Greene County Circuit Court at Paragould for  arraignment.
