Bledsoe died on Jan. 17 and his death was later ruled a homicide by the State Crime Lab.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police are investigating a family tragedy that unfolded inside one Little Rock home.
Investigators say a man shot his mother and grandfather early this morning around 2:30.
It happened on Marcia Drive, west of South University Avenue.
Officers arrested 25-year-old Justin Bledsoe for the crime.
They say he was inside a bedroom -- near his grandfather -- when police got to the house.
Detectives say Bledsoe shot his grandfather -- 76 year old James Bledsoe -- and his mother several times inside the home on Marcia Drive.
James Bledsoe's condition was upgraded from grave to serious later this afternoon.
The suspect's mother -- Betty Bledsoe -- was shot in the leg.
She's expected to survive.
Today we talked to a woman who knows the accused shooter.
Britni Harrison said, "Shocked. I would not expect that from Justin because he's very family oriented and he loves his family. He has a child. I mean I couldn't imagine him doing that at all."
Police tell us Bledsoe does have a criminal record.
And now, he faces more charges including domestic battery, aggravated assault, felon in possession of a weapon and drug charges.
His grandmother was also at home at the time of the shooting, but police say she ran out of the bedroom and wasn't hurt.
