SCOTT, AR- Some of the best water skiers in the world competed on Bullneck Lake in Scott Arkansas Sunday.
These daredevils are vying for a title in slalom, tricks, jumping, and overall events.
This is the first time the US Open Water Ski Championship has been held in the Natural State.
Athletes traveled from as far away as Australia and Germany.
One local competitor says performing the dangerous tricks on the water can be a little nerve-wracking.
"Well for me, it's pretty fun. I actually go to school with some of these people so I know them pretty well, but everybody has the same nerves going into each competition and knowing you are pretty much competing against a friend, but on the water they are your enemies it's kind of tough," says Brittany Greenwood.
Greenwood has competed on an international level. She placed third Sunday.
