Plantation Subdivision Receives Help from Volunteers

MAYFLOWER, AR -- While the destruction from Sunday's tornado has been devastating, the generosity from volunteers is helping victims get by one day at a time.

At Plantation Subdivision -- in Mayflower -- many homes are in ruins.

Some homes are completely wiped from their foundations.

A Christian based organization -- called Samaritan's Purse -- helped people in the neighborhood over the weekend.

They're cleaning up and sorting debris for families needing the help.

Team Leader Janet Wittenborn said, "Some of them want us to pick through their belongings because they have memories and it's hard for them to just let everything go."

FEMA is asking storm victims and volunteers to organize debris in piles.

The Faulkner County Judge says it will be picked up as quickly as possible, but he said it could take several weeks, even months, to get everything done.
