Police: Man Arrested After Firing Shotgun During Benton Disturbance

BENTON, AR - A man accused of firing a shotgun during a disturbance has been arrested.
Joseph A. Rippy, 27, faces a string of charges after the Monday night incident at a home on Edison Avenue.
Officers were called to the scene around 10:30 and soon after spoke with the victim in the case who told them Rippy had threatened her and other occupants of the home with the weapon.
Police say when officers learned that Rippy had discharged the shotgun in close proximity to individuals in the home during the disturbance, he was taken into custody.
The victim then fled the home with the other occupants, according to the incident report.
Rippy is charged with Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, Commission of a Terroristic Act, 4 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Family Member, 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and 4 counts of Terroristic Threatening.
