Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the patella tendon in his left knee.
The news of Gonzalez's surgery comes one day after the Rockies announced that shortstop Troy Tulowitzki would also have season-ending surgery to repair the labrum in his left hip.
Gonzalez, who missed a month earlier in the season after having a benign tumor removed from his left index finger, will undergo the surgery on his knee this coming Monday.
The injury-plagued outfielder has batted just .238 with 11 home runs and 38 RBI in 70 games this season.
