Roofs, Trees, Power Lines Damaged in Northwest Arkansas Storms

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS - Storm damage cleanup is under way in at least four counties after high winds roll through this corner of the state.

Just before 2:30 p.m., the National Weather Service in Tulsa reported that multiple homes in Pea Ridge had shingle damage.

Thirty minutes earlier, damage was reported to a building at the Northwest Arkansas (XNA) Regional Airport 3 miles northeast of Highfill. 

Power lines were reported down in Fort Smith on B Street and near the airport.  

Damage to trees was reported in Benton, Washington, Sebastian and Franklin counties. That includes the towns of Gentry, Gravette, Lowell, Bentonville, Johnson, Centerton, Fort Smith and Ozark.

Thunderstorm wind gusts were also reported with these storms, including:
  • 66 mph at Fort Smith Regional Airport
  • 61 mph at Siloam Springs Airport
  • 61 mph at Drake Field in Fayetteville  
  • 59 mph at XNA Airport in Highfill
