HOT SPRINGS, AR -- Almost two weeks ago the historic Majestic Hotel in Hot Springs was destroyed by fire.
Now the city is making sure everything is removed safely.
The city is currently working with the owner of the building to figure out when the rubble will begin to be moved out.
They are also working to decide where the rubble will be taken.
The asbestos in the bricks could require more work in the disposal process but the number one priority for Hot Springs, is safety.
"We want to make sure that that property is clean, that the air and water in the area is pure, and that we are going to seek redevelopment of the property." says David Watkins, Hot Springs City Manager.
The city has hired firms to test both air and water quality near the hotel's remains.
