School Blood Drive Honors Late Nurse
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Students in the Little Rock School District used a day off from school Monday to do some good.
On Monday, Henderson Middle School dedicated a planned blood drive to the memory of Stacy Branson, a school nurse who recently passed away.
Several of Branson's friends and colleagues came up to the school to donate.
The American Red Cross says donating blood for another person's memory is a big help -- especially now when the need for blood is so high.
"It's just a good thing that we do to do this in memory of because a lot of people need it and it can save a lot of lives," says Jasmine Williams with the American Red Cross.
It's not just blood being collected -- those who donated also signed a card that will be presented to Branson's family.
