SEARCY, AR - A local man has been charged with a second home invasion after it was determined that he forced his way into homes on Jan. 16 and Jan. 19, according to the Searcy Police Department (SPD).
John Miles, 29, is being held on $60,000 bond and faces charges of Residential Burglary, Aggravated Residential Burglary, and Theft of Property.
On Jan. 16, police were dispatched to the 500 block of Joyce St. for a call of an unknown man forcing his way into a residence while the homeowner was there. The victim told police that she heard a knock at the door and when she opened it a masked man forced his way past her. The woman said the suspect was armed with a pistol. The victim was able to get out of the house and run to a neighbor’s home to call 911. The suspect left before police arrived.
On Jan. 19, officers were called to another house on the 500 block of Joyce St. for another home invasion. Police were told that an unknown person was inside the residence with a victim also inside. When officers arrived, they found Miles inside the home.
