Sherwood Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl for Years

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Sherwood man is being held on $100,000 bond after the mother of a teenaged girl files a report claiming he had been paying her daughter to perform sexual acts for several years.

Paul Wayne Perkins, 37, is jailed on one count each of rape and sexual assault, 2nd degree. The alleged victim in the case is now 17.

The girl's mother first went to the authorities in April when her daughter was 16, telling investigators with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office of the alleged abuse.

The incident report states that the woman and her daughter had lived with Perkins and his parents for years.

The report says the mother became suspicious when she noticed Perkins allegedly giving money to the girl and driving her around. When the mother asked the girl about it, she allegedly said Perkins had asked her to perform sexual acts in exchange for money and other favors since she was 8 years old.

Perkins is scheduled to appear in court in March.
