Freshman right-handed pitcher Zach Jackson (1-0) earned the win after a career-long, 3.2-inning outing in relief. The Berryhill, Okla., native struck out two while allowing three hits and no runs. Jackson has thrown 12.1 innings this season over four appearances without allowing an earned run. Junior right hander Jacob Stone earned his first save as a Razorback. Stone finished the final 2.1 innings after being called from the bullpen with two runners on and two outs in the seventh inning. Left-handed pitcher Colin Poché made his first start of the season and allowed just one hit in 3.0 shutout innings.
Junior Joe Serrano drove in three of Arkansas’ runs. The Tucson, Ariz., native knocked in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the fifth inning and added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Michael Bernal scored two runs, and Jake Wise scored the other run and led the Razorbacks with two hits during the game.

Coach Van Horn Quotes
Head Coach Dave Van Horn (on Saturday’s game) – “We did a good job of getting some runners on and setting up some situations. We had a nice hit-and-run that worked, a sacrifice fly, and we laid down a sacrifice bunt and the runner ended up getting driven in later in that inning. We just did a tremendous job. We responded after not playing very well yesterday. I’m proud of the guys. They played hard."
Head Coach Dave Van Horn (on RHP-Zach Jackson) – “He did a tremendous job. He’s young and has great stuff. He has a sinking fastball in the low-90s, a plus breaking ball and a plus change-up, and he had to use them all. He threw enough strikes to get them to chase a few. He ran out of gas a little at the end. We had him up a couple of times (in the bullpen) during yesterday’s game. He’s just learning how to be a reliever, and he probably ran out of gas a little bit sooner than normal. We’re proud of him."
