10 Arkansas students receive AAA scholarships

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Activities Association says it's awarded 10 scholarships to student-athletes throughout the state.

To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship, students had to hold a 3.5 GPA and meet minimum scores on the ACT or SAT.

The girls' winners are: Lacy Patterson, a volleyball player from Alma; Rachel Smith, a basketball player from Nashville; Keia T'Ann Allen, a softball player from Hot Springs Lakeside; Deanna Herron, a track team member from Jessieville; and Rachel Zweig, a soccer player from Fayetteville.

The boys' winners are: Johnathan Marasco, a football player from Russellville; Stephen Graves, a basketball player from Fayetteville; Preston Harmon, a baseball player from Izard County; Kyle Hendren, a track team member from Little Rock Christian; and Richard David Burke III, a soccer player from Hot Springs Lakeside.
