BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Financial reports filed with the Arkansas Ethics Commission show that two grandsons of Walmart Stores founder Sam Walton have donated a total of $220,000 to a group that supports alcohol sales in Benton County.

The Benton County Daily Record reports that brothers Tom and Stuart Walton each donated $80,000 last month to the group Keep Dollars in Benton County. That's in addition to the $60,000 in seed money that the men gave the group in February.

Benton County is a dry county that allows alcohol sales in licensed private clubs. Keep Dollars in Benton County is gathering signatures for an initiative that would legalize retail sales of alcohol.

Financial reports also show that Iowa-based convenience store chain Casey's General Stores gave $10,000 to the group in March.
