ENOLA, Ark. (AP) — Two passengers in a car traveling on sleet-slickened highway in Faulkner County died when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck an SUV head-on.

State police identified the dead as Cloe and Anastasia Meredith of Pangburn. Their ages weren't known.

Sleet had collected on Arkansas Highway 36 prior to the accident, according to a state police report. Four people were injured, including the 24-year-old driver of the car that slid.

The deaths were the only ones reported Wednesday morning by Arkansas state police since a snowstorm struck Christmas afternoon. Two pedestrian deaths in Pine Bluff on Christmas occurred before the winter weather began.
