Ark. lt. gov. traveling to China on trade mission

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas Lt. Gov. Mark Darr is traveling to China this week with five other lieutenant governors on an economic development mission.

Darr's office on Tuesday announced that he will travel with five other lieutenant governors beginning Friday and ending Oct. 20.

Darr plans to attend the Canton Trade Fair in in Ghangzhou then travel on to meetings in Shanghai and Beijing. The delegation also plans to meet with World Trade Organization Deputy Director-General Harsha Singh, and with Chinese leaders in foreign affairs, aviation and education.

Darr is a Republican who was elected lieutenant governor last year.

The trip is hosted by the National Lieutenant Governors Association through its work with the Chinese People's Friendship Association with Foreign Countries and the China-US Exchange Foundation.
