Arkansas State names new chancellor

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State University says an administrator at Texas Tech University will be the school's new chancellor.

ASU system president Charles Welch made the announcement Friday. Tim Hudson has served as vice chancellor of the Texas Tech University system since 2011. Before that, he was president of the University of Houston-Victoria and he also served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Hudson received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Southern Miss and a doctorate degree from Clark University.
