LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The State Board of Education is considering a proposal to keep the Arkansas Governor's School in Conway until 2015.

The board meets Monday morning and will consider a recommendation to keep the Governor's School at Hendrix College. The state issued a request for proposals to four-year institutions and Hendrix was the only school to submit a proposal to host Governor's School.

The state says more than 11,200 students have attended Governor's School since its inception in 1980 at Hendrix.

Arkansas students entering their senior year of high school can apply for the six-week summer residential program.
