FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences-Northwest campus is getting a big, post-Christmas present.

UAMS chancellor Dan Rahn and UAMS-Northwest vice chancellor Peter Kohler are scheduled to announce a major gift Tuesday that will fund a special clinic aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students at the campus in Fayetteville.

More than 100 students attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest campus, which began welcoming students in 2009.

Officials say they expect eventual enrollment to total more than 300 medical, pharmacy, nursing and allied health professions students, along with resident physicians.
