LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas School Boards Association is gathering as its members await the effect of an Arkansas Supreme Court decision on school funding.

Gov. Mike Beebe is to address the board members and administrators Friday during the group's annual convention in Little Rock.

Legislators say they are still weighing what steps they will have to take to accommodate the high court ruling that school districts can keep the money if they collect more in property tax revenues than state-mandated school funding levels.

Public school budgets account for more than $5 billion in total spending and they educate 460,000 students. The state has 239 school districts.
