FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to attend an event honoring former Sen. Dale Bumpers and his wife, Betty, at the University of Arkansas later this month.

School officials confirmed Tuesday that the April 15 gathering will be an invitation-only event hosted by the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences. Additional details of the event haven't been released.

Bumpers, a Democrat, served as governor of Arkansas from 1971 to 1975 and was a U.S. senator from 1975 to 1999.
