JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — An intersection near U.S. Highway 63 in Jonesboro where a woman died last year is getting a new traffic light.

The Jonesboro Sun reports that the intersection of Parker Road and Stadium Boulevard is one of three spots along the highway corridor that will be under construction in coming months.

The intersection is seen by many locals as dangerous. Last May, a Jonesboro woman was killed when a car crashed into hers while she turned north onto Stadium Boulevard, which crosses the highway.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department also announced a new stoplight at U.S. 63 and Stadium Boulevard as well as an extension of the right-turn lane at Parker Road and Southwest Drive.
