LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says it is putting 17 new wildlife officers into the field.

The agency said Wednesday that together the cadets completed more than 700 hours of training to get their badges.

Game and Fish says that the officers will be spread among 17 counties.

The 17 cadets were chosen from among several hundred applicants. Required experience includes college degrees or law enforcement experience.

The agency says the new officers will work with experienced officers in their first assignments.
