FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — A commemorative coin in honor of the U.S. Marshals Service has been approved by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Proceeds from the sales of the coin will be used to support the planned U.S. Marshals Museum that's to be built in Fort Smith where the marshals service oversaw what was then the Indian Territory that is now Oklahoma.

The money is to be used for the preservation and maintenance of artifacts and documents that will be displayed at the museum.

The bill now goes to the president for his signature.
