Mayflower development land contains old cemetery

A subdivision developer who wants to build on a parcel in Mayflower has pulled the project after the discovery of more than 300 graves. Some of them appear to be of African Americans and date from the time of slavery.

Grave sites are moved all of the time in this country. I sure the older amongst us remember the cemetery being moved from intersection area of 12th and University in Little Rock during construction of I-630.
