LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Lottery Commission will interview candidates for the director position this weekend.

Commission members are scheduled to speak to seven candidates, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The finalists include former Pennsylvania horse track and casino executive Richard Knight; New Hampshire Lottery Director Charles McIntyre; former Clinton administration aide Bob Nash, and former Georgia Lottery Senior Vice President Joan Schoubert. State House of Representatives Chief of Staff Bill Stovall; former Kansas Lottery Director Edwin Van Petten and current Arkansas Lottery attorney Bishop Woosley.

One of them will succeed former director Ernie Passailaigue (PASS'-uh-lay), who resigned in September after criticism over his management of the games.

Passailaigue also was criticized about his $324,000 annual salary. The commission earlier this week voted to cap the director's salary at $175,000.
