CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Freshman Republican Congressman Tim Griffin is squaring off with Democratic rival Herb Rule and two third-party candidates for a televised debate.

Griffin and Rule are scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon for the taping of a debate with Green Party candidate Barbara Ward and Libertarian Chris Hayes. The debate will air at 8 p.m. on AETN.

Griffin is running for re-election in the 2nd Congressional District, which covers seven counties in central Arkansas. He's a former interim U.S. attorney who served in the George W. Bush White House. Rule is a Little Rock attorney who has served in the Legislature and on the Little Rock School Board.

The 2nd district is one of two longtime Democrat-held U.S. House seats in Arkansas that Republicans picked up in the 2010 election.
