LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Central Arkansas Water Board has called a special meeting to discuss the land use plan around Lake Maumelle.

The meeting is to be at 3:30 p.m. Monday so commissioners can discuss plans that would allow development of acreage in the watershed around the lake, which is the source of drinking water for the Little Rock area.

Pulaski County is working to develop the land use plan. At issue is the potential for damage to the lake's water quality if development leads to pollution.

The meeting is to be held at the Central Arkansas Water office at 221 E. Capitol Ave. in Little Rock.
