Suspect arrested in Texarkana murder

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A murder Thursday night in Texarkana has resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Cortez Hooper.

Police were at The Willow Apartments on East 35th Street responding to another call when they heard gunshots. They found 21-year-old Terry Koontz lying in the parking lot. Koontz was declared dead at the scene.

Police believe that Koontz may have been in some sort of fight that resulted in his murder.

Police obtained a warrant for 1st degree murder for Hooper. He was arrested Friday afternoon in Prescott.
