LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Republican Congressman Tim Griffin has more than $450,000 in the bank as he heads into the final few weeks of his re-election bid for a central Arkansas seat.

Griffin on Monday reported raising more than $214,000 over the past three months in his re-election bid to Arkansas' 2nd Congressional District. Griffin spent nearly $325,000 during the quarter and has more than $450,000 cash on hand.

Griffin is a former White House staffer who was elected to the 2nd District in 2010. He is running for re-election against Democrat Herb Rule and has raised $1.5 million total. A fundraising report for Rule wasn't posted on the Federal Election Commission site and his campaign hadn't announced fundraising totals.

Monday was the deadline for campaigns to report their third quarter fundraising.
