LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Opening statements have been presented in the trial of two former police officers and another man accused of conspiring to rob an armored car in 2007.

Federal prosecutors and defense attorneys presented their arguments after a jury was seated Monday in the trial of ex-Veterans Affairs officer Allen Clark, former Little Rock police officer Jason Gilbert and Antonio Person.

Person initially was tried in 2010, but the judge declared a mistrial. An indictment handed up in January restated the allegations against Person and accused Clark and Gilbert of conspiring with him.

Two others have pleaded guilty in the case.

Prosecutors allege Person used a firearm to rob an Arkansas Armored Car employee on Sept. 10, 2007, and took $400,000.

Gilbert's attorney, Jason Files, says attorneys will begin calling witnesses Tuesday.

OMG, I used to work as a driver for them, quit in 2009, was always concerned it might happen to me but was blessed it didnt! It is a VERY dangerous job and the pay is NOT worth the risk. TOO much MONEY and TOO much DANGER on daily bases. I had two little boys at home and decided I needed to find something else to make a living. God Bless those still doing it and I hope It never happens again and glad he was ok!

2007-2011? Why so long? Crazy. Witnesses can die in that amount of time.
