TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — Government prosecutors have filed notice that three of the five women who testified during Tony Alamo's criminal case want to give victim impact testimony at his sentencing.
The 75-year-old Alamo was convicted in July on 10 counts of taking young girls across state lines for sex. He's to be sentenced Nov. 13.
The four women and a 17-year-old testified that Alamo married them when they were children — one said she was 8 at the time.
Alamo faces up to 175 years in prison. His attorneys have filed a motion asking for a lighter sentence than might be recommended under federal guidelines because of his good works, declining health and age.
