BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Bentonville police say a woman is dead and a man injured after a standoff Sunday night.

Police Chief Jon Simpson says the standoff began at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived at the scene after a woman inside the home called 911, seeking help.

Police say authorities attempted to negotiate with the man — at one point using a robot to bring a phone into the home.

Simpson says the man was transferred to a hospital with a gunshot wound and the woman was found shot to death inside the house.

No names have been released yet.

Sounds like the wrong one was found dead in the home. Here comes another "mental disease/disorder" plea.
