PINE BLUFF, AR – Pine Bluff Police are investigating the shooting death of a Niven Township constable.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas Constable Association tells Fox 16 that Constable Tommy Holcomb, Sr. was shot and killed at the Speedway Gas Station on Camden Road Wednesday night. The Sheriff's Office says Holcomb's son is a deputy with Jefferson County and that his brother is County Judge Mike Holcomb.

The Pine Bluff Police Department says the shooting was a result of a road rage incident. Police say around 6pm a car pulled into the gas station parking lot closely followed by a second car. The driver of the first vehicle got out of his car and approached the passenger side of the second vehicle.

Police say that words were exchange followed by gunshots from both men. The driver of the first vehicle, Holcomb, died of his gunshot wounds. The second man was taken to a hospital by a female driver. Police say he is in serious condition. The female driver was found and is being interviewed by police.

I believe the police will try to target this guy after he gets out of the hospital. I was railroaded by JPD when I turned 18. It is easy for the police to take the stand tell a few well placed lies, and slam this guy is in prison. I bet they get this guy unless he leaves town.

In Pine Bluff our police are thugs. Cops threatened to torture me and to kill me, and one bragged that they could make me "disappear." If you think I deserve such treatment, consider this: I'm a college graduate and I've worked as a teacher in public schools. I'm not a convicted felon or a criminal. Here cops have a stop and frisk policy, and steal guns from law-abiding citizens, and they put us at-risk more than they protect us.

My comment calling the police a bunch of out of control thugs was removed. This constable was not a good guy. He tried to commit murder because he was unable to control himself, and got himself shot in the process. The other party should sue his estate and the city for having these hot heads running around bulling people. No, it is not the gas stations fault in any way.

When will the truth be reported? The surveillance video tells the whole story, but it is not being reported. The 60 year old thug is being called a hero. This is so wrong! Please investigate and tell the true story.

@ Pine Bluff, you really should change your name..because Im sure many of us wouldnt like you to represent for "OUR" city. You dont know how silly you sound BOYCOTT the gas station for WHAT?? it didnt start there, it stemmed from a road rage.( well at least that is what was said) Thank you @ 1gmama for pointing out the fact that the man was 60, very doubting if he was a thug. lol People say the dumbest things. However this is a very sad situation for anyone to have been killed over something so petty. Praying for my city daily!

The man that was killed was 60 years old hardly what I would call a thug. Some people just need to shout up and pray sometimes.

The two cars pulled off the road onto the Speedway lot. So why are you blaming Speedway?

Ahhhhhhh, the joys of living in Pine Bluff. We are off to a record year so far. Text a tip, thug finder and the one that detects when shots are fired would have done no good in this case. Waste of time and money. Keep it up Pine Bluff and you will be on the same level as NLR/LR.
