FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say one person has died after a possible home invasion in Fayetteville.
Police received a call about shots being fired at a duplex around 9:20 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found a person who had been wounded. That person was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Officers were told that three men wearing ski masks broke into the residence, and one of the two men inside went to get a weapon. Gunfire was exchanged, and one of the residents and another person were wounded.
Sgt. Craig Stout says investigators believe the person who died may have been one of the assailants. A man who was at the residence when the others burst in was taken to a hospital for treatment.
