11yo shot in drive by, 2 teens arrested

TEXARKANA, AR - Two juveniles were arrested in Texarkana after an 11 year old was hit in a drive by shooting Friday night.

Police officers responded to the shooting after 10pm at the Chapel Ridge Apartments located at 4716 County Ave. When the officers arrived, they found an 11-year-old boy shot in the leg. The victim was transported and treated for non-life threatening injuries at St. Michaels Hospital.

According to the police report, several juveniles drove to the apartment complex and started shooting. Two 17-year-olds were charged with 2nd degree battery and unlawful discharge of a weapon in connection with the shooting.

The investigation is still ongoing and police expect to make more arrests.

chapel ridge is not low income housing it is income based housing, there are people there that pay the full amount and there are others that dont. the report never said they lived in chapel ridge, protector you are the only person that made a comment in regards to the story. the other idiots are just taking shots at black people. battery goes by the injury, meaning if it was non life threatening 2nd degree is appropriate, if it was life threatening it would have been 1st degree battery. they need terroristic act to be applied it is very serious

Chapelridge is low income housing. Interesting that poor people - teenagers - can afford a gun.
