This is just SO SAD! My heart goes out to his mother, family and friends. I am the mother of a 14 year old boy myself and I can't even imagine what I would do if something happened to him! I don't own a gun but this doesn't mean it couldn't happen if he was at someone else's house. It's VERY important to teach your children to respect guns and know what they are suppose to be used for.

I was raised with a loaded gun in my house and knew better than touch it.Kid's are left to raise themselves anymore parents are too busy with other things to teach their kids. The board of education was introduced at an early age at my house and it needs to be introduced to more kids today.

I will pray for all, this is so sad for the one's involved and the family of the 3 children. 1:30 A.M. is late for children being up. Being a mother or father is a tuff job, but also a rewarding job. I again pray for all involved.

@tired, you are a dumba$$! It only takes one time for a child to touch a gun and something like this to happen. You may not have a chance to punish them, then you would be wishing you had not ever brought that gun into your house, or at least had locked it up. Now don't get too mad, go on and take your babies out to the woods and teach them how to kill. Then wonder why they turn out the way they do...with a lack of compassion, and rebellous little teenagers. I just hope you ALWAYS eat what you kill. Now my parents did this the right way, guns were in a safe, for the most part unloaded. When I was about 12 they taught me how to shoot, but made sure I knew how big of a deal a gun was and that I needed to be responsible with it. When I was about 15 and home alone with my siblings, Dad gave me a key to the lock box, said that there was 1 bullet in the gun, and that was all I would need since we target practiced, I was only to get it out if someone was breaking into the house, or I had to defend myself. Believe me I knew not to touch it unless I had to.

If the shooting happen the way they said... it was a accident, nothing can justify having a loaded weapon available for kids to shoot one another (who does that ? ) the mother need to sue who ever that weapon belong to for wrongful death , that would be a life sentence.... sue for what her son could have been and did't get to be..... because of stupidity. The owner of the weapon should pay for the funeral, make who ever pay !!!

A tragic event that galvanizes the the crowds of "better than thou" into a frenzy of "stone them", "stone them" ! I wonder HOW many of you who comment really keep your eyes and attention on your children 24 hours a day 7 days a week ! This occurred in what one would accept as a safe environment, kids having a sleep over. Interesting how this crowd readily blames the parents and already have the ropes thrown over the tree limbs. This is an event that will scar EVERYONE involved and until the investigative authorities have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt (Yep, that being a foundation of OUR legal system, cause this is AMERICA)that the parents were negligent. Our prayers should be for everyone involved INCLUDING the parents of the child who made a really bad mistake....or doesn't your so called christian virtue allow for that

The gun owner should be held financially liable and some possible jail time. We lose so many children because of thoughtless and uncaring parents everyday. Not just guns but 4 wheelers. I hear of at least 5 children seriously injured or killed every year just here in Arkansas on a 4 wheeler accident. Sad. Pray for this family.

This is a sad event. A child lost his life and his mother and family is suffering. I am sure the other family is suffering also. Murder charges or any other charges should not be filed because it was an accident!
