LITTLE ROCK, AR--An eighth grade Conway boy said he chased 2 men out of his home using a 12-gauge shotgun Sunday night. Conway police are now investigating the incident.

Brady, whose family's name Fox16 is concealing, says he went to get a glass of water from the kitchen when he heard something strange.

"I walked to the edge of the stairs and I hear them talking. I didn't recognize their voices and I went back to my room and got my 12-gauge shotgun. I loaded it," said Brady.

He then confronted the men on the stairwell with the gun in hand.

"I was really more determined to protect my family," said Brady.

The loud exchange woke his mother.

"I jumped out of bed and all I heard was commotion, running down the stairs," said Angela, Brady's mom.

Brady says the intruders pointed their guns at him and he pointed his back. But instead of shooting the men, he decided to chase them out.

"I think it was the thought of killing another human, it was hard to do for a 14-year-old," said Brady, "I think I may have pulled the trigger because if (criminals) are going to do it once, they are probably going to do it again."

The locks are now changed at his home.

You obviously made the right choice, considering the outcome. What r the alternatives besides what you decided 2 do. Fire a warning shot and maybe causing them 2 react and fire back. And since you r my lil brother, I know u def would have shot if they shot first. And with that Turkey Load, those pitiful people wouldnt have lived 2 maybe someday start living their life the right way, maybe even living for Christ. I'm just glad everybody lived to learn from the experience and move forward. Proud of you lol brother.

Thank God, they did not shoot him, the article said they also had guns. I am so glad this child is okay this could have been much worst. He did a good job of protecting his family but this is really scary.

Very smart son...You made the right decision or best in theat situation. A lot of us agree you could have shot them to let them know if your holding a gun you will fire. I understand and we all have to realize that this is a 14 yr. old boy...the thought of actually shooting someone and possibly killing them is a terrifying thought. However you can shoot to injure instead of shoot to kill. Either way YOU DID FANTASTIC and we're all proud of you. I know your parents are proud of you.

Having a loaded gun in your hands and the willingness to take another human life are two distinctly different things. I'm glad that boy did not have to kill anyone; he would have carried the guilt all the rest of his life even though the killing may have been justifiable. As a concealed carry permit holder I pray I will never have to take another person's life but that would not stop me from doing so if it were to mean my life, or that of a family member, were in immediate danger. My advice to crooks; beware!! You come in someone's house uninvited you may be carried out horizontally by law enforcement.
