2 arrested for theft in Benton

BENTON, AR - Police have arrested two men they say were caught stealing from a shop Monday night. The men reportedly told police they were stealing items from a person who them money for drugs.

According to police, 51-year-old Donald Ball and 22-year-old Joshua Howman had backed a truck up to a shop in the 1400 block of Hwy 35 South and were loading items into it. Police say the men mistakenly belived the items belonged to someone who owed them money for illegal narcotics.

The property in the truck was returned to the owner and the men were taken to the Saline County Detention Facility. Both are charged with residential burglary and unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate a crime. Ball is an active parolee.

hey jethro did you know your tax dollars go to bond out inmates in the saline jail its true all felony bonds are through saline sherriffs office other bondsman can only bond misterminer crimes so your paying to get them out on street to steal more

Yes, itsjustme, i agree parole needs to end. He needs to go on back to prison and finish his original sentence and some..i hate my tax dollars will be going toward these butt wipes.

Yeah, no kidding. I guess they thought if they explained to the cop that they were committing a felony in order to recoup the costs of another felony that went unpaid, that it'd be ok. Dumbasses.

no, officer, we aren't STEALING this - it's collateral that he put up until he can pay us the cash for the illegal narcotics we sold him. It's all good - really!

An active parolee committing a felony, Im shocked. And here I thought parole worked. This is what I am talking about. Nothing to prevent criminals from repeating over and over and over. I want to see someone blame a gun owner for this one. Another reason why parole is not needed. Do away with it and keep these dead beat thieving punks off of the streets.
