HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed misdemeanor charges against two teenagers accused of killing two horses, a donkey and a cow.

The juveniles were charged last week with misdemeanor animal cruelty. The Sentinel-Record reports that a Pearcy man filed a complaint with sheriff's investigators on Oct. 8, saying that two quarter horses, one cow and one donkey were shot and killed on his property.

A second cow had been shot in the horn.

Garland County Sheriff's Department investigator Danny Wilson says a 17-year-old boy from Hot Springs and a 16-year-old Royal boy were charged with five counts of animal cruelty.

Wilson says the two boys allegedly bragged about the shootings at school. Both were charged as juveniles and are due in Garland County Juvenile Court on Nov. 1.

I'll agree with you Butch on the felony part. And as adults. Don't know the value of horse's and donkey's; but cattle can bring you a nice check come salebarn time. Parents of these boys should have to pay the man that lost livestock, every penny and then some. As far as voting; not everyone I vote for wins; so no, I didn't vote all these morons in; just some of them. Yes; to my local, county, state, and Federal politicians - I called you morons! If the shoe fits.....

Another flawed law on the books, along with the weak minded justice system.

Some of you voted for the people that wrote and passed these laws. Second guessing your own work. The value of the animal should be pointless. The value of the crime should make it a felony.

"17 year old boy and a 16 year old boy" WHAT?? Cute little hunters. Too bad The Hunger Games is fiction - would love to turn these two lose to see how they'd fair. Killing is killing - if they don't punish these "BOYS" now ... just wait, we'll be feeding them while they sit in prison later!! RIDICULOUS!!

The farther our justice system gets away from real punishment, the more crime we have. It's getting to the point that "law abiding" citizens will have to use force to protect themselves and their property.
